Gone are the days of waiting for random 50% promos. Now it's about how fast you act:
Day 1–15: 50% discount
Day 16–30: 33% discount
Day 31–60: Full compound amount — no discount at this stage
Day 61 onwards: Case referred to court, and possible JPJ blacklist
Tip: Waiting doesn't save any money after day 30 — it only costs you more.
Here’s where things get real:
JPJ blacklist — you cannot renew your road tax or driving licence until it’s settled.
Court summons, especially for serious PDRM offences or cases unresolved past 60 days.
Higher fines as discounts disappear over time.
Possible insurance impact.
In short: Ignore your saman long enough, and your car goes on strike.
The easiest way in 2026:
For JPJ summons and AES/AwAS camera offences: Use the MyJPJ app. Check by IC number or plate number, view your summons and blacklist status, and pay directly in-app.
For PDRM (police) summons: Use the MyBayar PDRM app/portal.
For local council fines, check via:
Official council portals (DBKL, MBPJ websites)
Parking apps used in your city

As of mid-2026, PIAM (General Insurance Association of Malaysia) has confirmed it is working with Bank Negara Malaysia on a proposed risk-based pricing model that would factor in traffic offences, driving behaviour and accident frequency. This is a proposed framework under discussion, not yet a confirmed industry-wide standard.
If and when this framework is implemented, frequent offences could mean perceived higher risk, which insurers say could translate to higher premiums
Tip: Keeping your records clean now puts you in a better position if and when insurers do start factoring in driving behaviour.
Avoid JPJ blacklist and renew your road tax today.
PDRM covers driving offences like speeding, while JPJ focuses on vehicle compliance like road tax or licence issues. One is about behaviour, the other is about legality.
Visit your local council's website (DBKL, MBPJ) or use their parking apps to check if you receive a traffic summons.
Fines may increase, and you could receive legal notices. While not immediate, unpaid compounds can escalate into enforcement action.
For JPJ and AES/AwAS offences, MyJPJ is the most convenient — centralised, official, and supports quick check and payments. For police summons, use MyBayar PDRM.
The risk-based insurance pricing is not yet a standard practice today, but the industry is moving toward risk-based pricing that could factor in your driving record. Therefore, a clean record may pay off down the line.
