KUALA LUMPUR, 9 SEPTEMBER 2026 — PolicyStreet, an insurtech leader, has received three industry accolades in 2026, including two regional awards recognising its growth and innovation, as the company enters its next phase of expansion across Asia.

Most recently, PolicyStreet was named the Fastest Growth Award winner at the inaugural Asia FinTech Alliance (AFA) Awards 2026, held in Taipei on 1 September. The recognition follows PolicyStreet's Innovative Microinsurance Product win at the Asia Consumer Insurance Awards, recognising the company's approach to making protection more relevant through personalised microinsurance solutions.

PolicyStreet was also named Malaysia's Most Disruptive Insurtech at the Insurance Asia News (IAN) Country Awards for Excellence, marking the third consecutive year that the company has received the recognition.

The recognition marks a significant chapter for the Malaysian-founded insurtech: after building its foundations and establishing a strong track record at home, PolicyStreet is increasingly gaining recognition on the regional stage.

The Fastest Growth Award places PolicyStreet among just five winners selected from 88 nominations across Asia. The inaugural AFA Awards programme brought together fintech companies nominated by member associations across AFA's network of 16 Asian economies, with finalists assessed by seven international judges on cross-border impact, transaction growth, regulatory capability, and technology robustness. Cross-border impact accounted for the largest share of the judging criteria at 40%, followed by transaction growth at 25%, regulatory capability at 20%, and technology robustness at 15%.

Yen Ming Lee, Co-Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of PolicyStreet, said: "To be recognised for both our growth and our work in microinsurance is especially meaningful because the two are closely connected. For us, it is proof that expanding access to protection and building a commercially sustainable business do not have to be competing ambitions. As PolicyStreet grows, so should the number of people and businesses that can access insurance that is affordable, relevant, and built around how they actually live and work."

The Asia Consumer Insurance Awards' Innovative Microinsurance Product recognition underscores PolicyStreet's approach to making protection not only more accessible, but more relevant. Through its PurposeProtect framework, PolicyStreet combines established general insurance coverage with customisable benefits tailored to the specific needs and risks of different customer segments, enabling personalised microinsurance solutions that reflect how people actually work, live, and transact.

Since its founding, PolicyStreet has served more than 10 million customers, facilitated over US$10 billion in sum insured, and directly and indirectly served more than 50,000 SMEs across Asia. Nearly one in every ten customers served by PolicyStreet is a gig worker, reflecting the company's focus on extending protection to segments that have historically faced barriers to conventional insurance.

Growing Regionally, Leading at Home

PolicyStreet's expanding regional recognition has been accompanied by a strong track record in its home market. Being recognised as Malaysia's Most Disruptive Insurtech for three consecutive years at the IAN Country Awards for Excellence underscores PolicyStreet's continued role in Malaysia's insurance ecosystem, even as the company expands its footprint and ambitions beyond its home market.

"Malaysia is where PolicyStreet started, where we built many of our capabilities, and where we learnt some of our most important lessons about making insurance work better for people. As we grow regionally, maintaining that strength at home matters enormously to us. Our ambition isn't simply to become bigger. It is to take what we have learnt and built in Malaysia, continue improving it, and see how much further we can take it across the region," says Yen Ming.

The three aforementioned accolades bring PolicyStreet's total industry recognitions in 2026 to five. Earlier this year, PolicyStreet was named among the Financial Times and Statista's High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific 2026 and received the Best Digital Insurance Project award at The Asset's Triple A Digital Awards for an innovative digital insurance solution developed in collaboration with a travel experience platform.

The latest recognitions come on the back of PolicyStreet's US$26 million Series C close, announced in July 2026, which is supporting the company's continued regional growth, technology capabilities, embedded insurance partnerships, and development of solutions addressing protection gaps across Asia. Together, the milestones reflect PolicyStreet's evolution from a Malaysian insurtech into a growing regional insurance technology group.
